National Movie Night is more than just an extension of your weekly movie night. It is the one night of the year that you can take your love of movies and amp it up a notch or two. You can invite all of your friends and family over, throw a themed party, and have a huge screening of your favorite film!

We are a family of movie fanatics every day of the year, but when the newly established National Movie Night holiday comes around, we pull out all the stops – and you can consider doing so too!

National Movie Night Set Up

The first thing you should do is sort out your setup. You can keep it small and cozy by staying indoors, or if you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can take the celebrations outside with a blow-up screen or projector. Or perhaps you feel like going all out? If so, why not rent out the theater or book yourself into a drive-in screening? Whatever you do, don’t forget the snacks! 

National Movie Night Invites

Next, you’ll want to start planning and sending out your invites. After all, you can’t expect your nearest and dearest to turn up to an event they don’t know exists yet! Don’t be afraid to get creative here. Enlist the kids’ help, grab some colored pens and paper, or use an online tool to design movie-themed invites.

How to Choose a Movie for National Movie Night

Now for the fun part of your National Movie Night Celebrations – choosing what to watch! Whether you want to watch something brand new, or a classic there are a lot of options. And last, but by no means least, snacks! Before you begin, make sure to gather all of your favorite movie night nibbles, from popcorn and chips to chocolates and candy, and settle in for a night of pure magic!
